THIS WEEK AT NCTV is Norfolk Community Television's blog recapping each week and highlighting upcoming workshops, events, premieres, and volunteer opportunities!  Check in every Friday starting at 4 PM for the latest scoop about the station, its members, the schools, and the town.

-On Tuesday, Production Coordinator Chris Lawn taught our Clicking Trickery Workshop, which focused on how to protect yourself from internet crime and included discussions about different types of e-mail scams, what websites to trust, how to make the most of an internet search, and online shopping do's and do not's!

-On Wednesday, Bill Crane and Duane Weiss came into the studio for "a complete and magnificent discussion of the problems of today presented by two ideal role models" in a new Bill Crane Report!

-Host Steven Olaska filmed a new segment for the upcoming third episode of Norfolk Late Nite.

-As part of our Media Literacy Month, NCTV hosted a screening of The Mean World Syndrome, a documentary that takes dead aim at a commercial media system that thrives on violence, stereotypes, and the cultivation of anxiety, and also shows how these media-induced fears and anxieties provide fertile ground for intolerance, extremism, and a paranoid style of politics that threatens basic democratic values.  Produced by the Media Education Foundation.

-The Stony Brook 2015 Fall Fair will take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10 AM - 4 PM and will host The 2nd Annual Wood Duck Derby!  All proceeds from the fair and derby go to benefit the Norfolk Community League and the Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary.

-This upcoming Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 6:30 PM in the main studio, NCTV Board Member Jordan Tynes will lead an interactive discussion on Copyright & Fair Use, an informational meeting and discussion about the topic so we can all leave with a better understanding of the current rules in place around copyright.  We also encourage you to come prepared with questions!  For more info, or to sign up online, click here or just show up the day of!
