Ladies and gentlemen, it is indeed the most wonderful time of the year and all of us here at NCTV would love to contribute to the wonderful times. So we would like to invite you to our FREE Holiday Movie Screening!

On Tuesday, December 22nd we will take a week off from workshops to simply enjoy a couple holiday films together. First, at 5:30pm, we will begin watching the 1964 sci-fi thriller, “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.” It is a relatively silly movie about Martians coming to Earth to kidnap Santa because there is no one on Mars that goes around giving everybody gifts. If you keep an open mind and take this movie for what it’s worth, it will likely prove to you why, in some circles, it is still revered as a cult classic. Also, try to ignore the possible spoilers right in the title of the movie!

Then, after that, we will get back to the classics by watching the 1951 version of “A Christmas Carol” formerly known as “Scrooge.” It is the well-known story of Ebenezer Scrooge’s Christmas nightmares and ultimate change of heart, but I won’t go any further as to not spoil the ending. Rotten Tomatoes gives this version of the film an 84% fresh. Colin Fleming of said:

To paraphrase someone else from another seasonal film: I double-dog dare you to watch this one and not have it shoot to the top of your list of all-time favorite movies, Christmas-related or otherwise.

You see that? You’ve officially been double-dog dared to watch this film! And what better way to view it than for free, with free popcorn, and with no commercials! We’ve got the movies, we’ve got the popcorn, we just need some people to join us.

Come and join us at the NCTV Studio on 158 Main Street on Tuesday, December 22nd at 5:30pm and enjoy some terrific holiday films with good people! We hope to see you there!
