On October 20th, Norfolk Community Television will be celebrating Community Media Day 2016 along with numerous other stations across the country.

Community Media Day is about celebrating freedom of speech, access to technology, creative expression, and everything in between. We feel so lucky to be part of this vibrant community and want to spend the day celebrating the work you and your neighbors do to fill NCTV’s channels with important and diverse programming each day!

With that said, we would like to invite anyone who has been impacted by community media as a participant or viewer (here or otherwise) to submit a video, voice recording, tweet, facebook post, e-mail, letter, drawing, painting, photograph, or whatever form of creative expression you choose in order to demonstrate why community media is important to you!  Our goal is to compile a video together encompassing all of these wonderful expressions in support of community media and the work that volunteers at stations like ours do everyday! We are so proud to be here and hope to continue to facilitate creative expression for years to come.

So record, e-mail, send, tag, build, draw, or photograph your community media stories and send them our way! We can also record your stories here at the station, so give us a call at (508) 520-2780 to set up a time. We can’t wait to hear and share your stories!

The deadline for submissions is by the end of the day Monday 10/17.

In addition, please join us on October 20th from 6:30pm - 8pm for a celebratory open house and premiere of the finished video right here at 158 Main Street!
