Students interview Marla Cohen on location at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary.

Last week, we had our Field Production Program for middle school kids (ages 12+) through Norfolk Recreation. It was the first time that we ran this particular program and it was quite a success!

This program was structured so that we spent the first day of camp at NCTV learning all about the equipment and coming up with a plan for the week. The second and third days, we spent the whole time over at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary on North Street in Norfolk. While we were there, we split up in to two groups and the students were able to film critters and experts alike. They came up with some amazing shots and asked some well thought out and provoking questions to our interview subjects. On the last two days of camp, they collaboratively worked on a 3 minute video piece about Stony Brook using video, photos, interviews, music, and titles.

Check out the slideshow below with a few of my favorite screenshots from their footage as well as their finished video!
